oohhh i forgot to blog about this. so far, i've got 3 out of the 5 modules i bidded for! amen. hope the other 2 goes smoothly.

apologies for the lack of updates. when you have to get up at 6.30am and be back only at night, all the travelling really just makes you want to stone in front of the computer. or the tv. or basically anything.

first day of orientation today.

too tired to update now. promise will do it soon.

not too long ago, i was just a jc student clad in my UGLY mudbrown uniform that has to be tucked in all the way showing off my expansive waistline, wearing soccer socks to school so no teacher can catch you for having low socks, having black hair which must be tied everyday before assembly even if it's dripping wet, and being spoonfed by every teacher in school. (ie. having our timetables JUST LIKE THAT, getting notes printed out for us for every single lecture and tutorial, announcements made during morning assembly and so on and so forth.)

suddenly, i'm being transported into a world with no uniform, no rules, no more spoonfeeding. and everything new comes throwing themselves at us. say hello to the bidding for your modules system, fulfilling the every-category requirements, everything is online so go and check out for yourself system.

welcome to the liberal arts world. and can i emphasize on the word liberal.
 
during the orientation talks today, there were many girls. some pretty, some tall, some short, some slim, some plump, some with nice dress sense, some with unique dress sense, some well-groomed, and some i-can't-be-bothered-so-i'm-just-wearing-my-tshirt-and-shorts-you-got-a-problem-with-that?

one caught my eye.

it is not because of her long rebonded hair which 9 girls seem to have out of 10. it is not because of her looks cause she doesn't look familiar to me at all. it is not her black cardigan with the green halter? spag straps? whatever it is that's inside that got my attention too.

me and my friends behind were staring down at her white skirt which IS nice. (not that we wanted to stare at it but she was just prancing around in front of us and we were bored from all the talks so.. yeah.)  the problem is, it barely covers one-quarter of her thighs. okay i know she has nice legs (i'm not blind) but does she know that guys have orgasmic reactions to seeing such stuff? (actually, do they?)
 
and i am NOT exaggerating when i say it barely covers one-quarter of her thighs. for witnesses, turn to kat michele or huili.

does that mean to fit into the liberal arts scene i have to prance around in a skirt thats 15cm long and to be all hip and slim and happening and well-groomed and pretty and well-dressed and eloquent? (i'm saying all these cos that's what i noticed of the majority today)

what am i doing there?

can't remember. seems like a hundred years ago. arrrrrrrrgh. *roars*

stupid matriculation. whoever in the world matriculates at 9am!!!

so anyway, my check up was all good. in contrary to the things i've listed below:

1. my eyesight is still perfect! (okay to  be honest i kind of cheated abit lar BUT its still near to perfect)

2. i lost weight! (prior to jc days) but nonetheless am still fat.

3. i've grown taller! (even if only by a measly 0.5cm)

4. my blood pressure is normal and cannot be better (quote doctor: "very good")

5. my spinal cord is not crooked! (not that i know of cos they didn't actually examine my back)

6. i have to go back for a repeat urine test cos they found traces of blood in my urine.

other than that, i'm all well and healthy so give thanks to the Lord. Hallelujah!

and i think Lindsay Lohan is hot.

 

haha. total crap. the clinic where i'm supposed to go for the checkup is closed for lunch till 1.30pm.

haha he's busy cleaning up the room while i'm busy taking up space. the room is so small, the bed is spoilt, the lights are dim. sigh what a hostel life. and his room is right at the top floor! with only stairs and no lifts. single room though. no icky roomie i guess. but kinda lonely huh.

i'll probably go there and find out that
 
1. my eyesight has worsened (due to long hours of staring in front of the monitor at pointless stuff)
 
2. i have put on weight (due to excessive eating as had nothing better to do. so, just eat and eat. and eat)
 
3. i have not grown any taller (due to mum's genes. she's actually shorter than me!)
 
4. high cholesterol level and blood pressure (from eating too much oily stuff eg. MacDonald's and Burger King)
 
5. crooked spinal cord (from hunching too much)
 
6. hopefully there isn't anything else that could go wrong already.

for one thing, my camera actually cost a bomb, so if i were not to use it, there would be under-utilisation and the money spent into this camera will go to waste.
 
secondly, photos are beautiful memories that you can keep and hold on to and browse occasionally. if not forever, at least for the most part of your life.
 
and thirdly, okay i'll just admit it. i enjoy taking photos! i mean, who doesn't? unless you're camera shy or have some sort of phobia? but then again, different people have different mindsets eh? okay shall not generalise here but just stick to the principle that i enjoy taking photos!!

my birthday! okay this was a really complicated day cause many things sort of cocked up on this day. nonetheless, i had a terrific time with my odac babes. :)

okay the thing is, jacob asked me out on my birthday night to celebrate it with me. the barbarians, however, has planned a surprise for me on my birthday itself. so when huimei called to like tan4 ting1 xiao1 xi4 and she found out that i was going out with jacob. so huiyu called jacob to tell him of their surprise and literally FORCED jacob to cancel his date with me. and thus on monday night, jacob smsed me to tell me that our date has been postponed to thursday night instead. and then, on my birthday morning, dot called me to date me out with the girls. and thus me, thinking that i had no plans, happily agreed, not knowing that the bbr actually planned a surprise for me. somehow, huiyu found out that i was going out and in the end told me the truth. haha boy, was it one mixed up day or what. but was truly touched that the bbr went to so much to plan the birthday surprise for me, even though i destroyed it myself haha.

went out with edwin my xiao shuai ge! he's darn cute. and darn young! felt like an auntie next to him in his vs uniform. met up with huips and xinyi too. like finally. after 10, 000 years. at night, went to meet jacob for dinner at this pasta place at millenia walk. not bad, quite nice. and he gave me a very nice birthday surprise which is too complicated to say here. all i can say is, i'm glad to have a friend like him. :)

uni is starting officially in 1 month's time and i have absolutely not one single idea of what i'm supposed to do to get going. what with all the hostel applications deadline, matriculation date, medical checkup dates all looming over me. the only dates i know are the hostel application deadline and matriculation date. heck, i didn't even know that i was supposed to go for a medical checkup till yesterday. and of course, while all the freshies out there are rushing to sign up for camps and packing up already, i haven't even got myself psyched up for a single camp. (the Varsity Christian camp for which i JUST sent in the registration form when the deadline is today doesn't count. because if the email screws up i will have officially no camps to go for because i believe that most camps' deadlines are already over.)

i am going to be a friendless twit in NUS for the whole of my 3 years there.
